Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts (XCCA) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will hold “ArteKultura 8: Writing Culture and Arts Researches and Art Criticism” on August 8 (9AM to 4:30PM) at the XU Little Theater.

This year’s resource speakers and topics are the following: Arvin Villalon of the University of the Philippines - Baguio on Revisiting Rootedness - Culture and Arts Research in the Philippine Context; Rogelio F Garcia Jr of XU on The Practice of Contextualized Literary and Film Criticism in the Philippines; and Eileen Legaspi Ramirez of UP-Diliman on Making Place for Criticism within Precarious Sites of Art Production and Reception.

ArteKultura is a flagship project XCCA under its Cultural Education Program (CEP) which aims to foster better understanding of Filipino expressions for the protection and promotion of our own cultural and artistic heritage.

XCCA is inviting culture and arts teachers, students, artists, critics, and bloggers across the region to join in the eighth installment of ArteKultura, “a formation program toward artistic excellence, culture and arts promotion, and heritage education.”

Registration fees are at Php75.00 for students and Php250.00 for faculty members and professionals. Certificates of participation and attendance will be provided to all the participants.
