Six research papers by Xavier University graduates and faculty members were presented at the recently concluded 11th Eastern Asia Society in Transportation Studies (EASTS) International Conference in Cebu City.

With the theme “Resilient and Inclusive Transportation Systems through Smarter Mobility,” the Transportation and Built Environment Team of XU led by civil engineering professor Dr Anabel Abuzo showcased cutting-edge researches in Mindanao transportation studies.

Moreover, Engr Jefferson R Vallente Jr was recognized as “Outstanding Presentation Awardee” for his paper titled An Analysis of Pedestrian Traffic Safety in Public School Zones in Cagayan Oro City.

The research papers presented were:

All these papers were submitted for publication in different international journals, namely, Journal of EASTS Conference Proceedings, The Journal of EASTS Volume X, and The Journal of Asian Transportation Studies.

EASTS is composed of transportation experts from 19 countries. Its primary objectives are to foster and support excellence in transportation research and practice, and to stimulate professional interchange in all aspects and modes of transportation.
