Xavier University, through its National Service Training Program (NSTP), released the list of winners of the Mindanao Week of Peace 2015 poster-making contest held last December at the XU Peace Park.
Carrying the theme, "Mindanaoan's Aspiration for Peace: Kalinaw sa Diyos-Kinaiyahan-Katawhan," the program served as an avenue to enhance multicultural understanding, increase awareness on Mindanao culture, and to encourage the youth to take an active part in peace-making activities.
Proclamation No 127, series of 2001, declares the last Thursday of November up to the first Wednesday of December of every year as the Mindanao Week of Peace.
The said contest was open to all XU NSTP - Literacy Training Service (LTS) partner schools (Category 1) and Grade 10 pupils (Category 2) in the city. It was participated in by 23 public and private schools with a total number of 36 contestants together with their respective coaches.
The winners received cash prizes, freebies and XU tuition vouchers worth Php2,000.00 for incoming senior high school students.
