Development Communication students of Xavier University dominated the 2nd Journalism Excellence Awards held at Lim Ket Kai Event Center earlier this month.

DevCom students won in four of five categories: Jade Alfie Sale (BSDC 4) for news writing, Rezza Mae Tolinero (BSDC 4) for science reporting, Angelo Lorenzo Gomos (BSDC 4) for sports writing and Brian Adam Anay (BSDC 3) for feature writing.

Other DevCom students also made it to the finals, namely, Kimberley Mae Llano (BSDC 4) for science writing, Timothy Justin Emata (BSDC 3) for feature writing, and Mark Ezra Burlat (BSDC 1) for news writing.

The Mindanao Journalism Excellence Awards, organized by Mindanao Daily News and participated in by different schools across Northern Mindanao, recognizes non-mainstream media writers.
