Fifteen Civil Engineering graduates of Xavier University passed the May 2016 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination (CELE).

XU garnered an overall passing rate of 75% after 15 of 20 examinees, of which 9 of 9 were first-time takers, successfully passed the test.

“I would like to thank Dr Hercules Cascon, dean of the College of Engineering, and Dr Anabel A Abuzo, chair of our Civil Engineering department, and all the faculty and staff of the College of Engineering for the assistance and support they have given to our students,” said XU president Fr Roberto C Yap SJ to the academic community.

The Professional Regulation Commission announced that only 2,245 out of 5,882 passed the CELE given by the Board of Civil Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Zamboanga.
