School administrators conducted an orientation for Xavier Senior High School students on the university’s health services and campus safety and security measures at the XU Covered Courts on Wednesday, August 3.

More than five hundred SHS Ateneans listened to the talk of XU Health Services director Dr Augusto Guitarte Jr on how to avail of the services offered at the XU Main Clinic, including their response mechanisms during emergencies.

Campus Safety, Security and Information Office (CSSIO) chief officer Ret Col Danilo Sotto and safety officer Apollo Bacas also discussed on the security policies and guidelines on responding to natural and man-made disasters.

The overarching goal of the said orientation was to build a culture of preparedness among the senior high school students.

This orientation also forms part of the university’s aim to actively inform its faculty, staff, and students on how to prevent, mitigate, and respond to threats and hazards within the campus. To this end, CSSIO continues to develop and recommend policies, procedures, and practice in consultation with the XU community. ∎
