Xavier Center for Culture and the Arts (XCCA) is all set to hold ArteKultura 9: A Cagayaniana Introspection on September 14 (8AM to 5PM) at the XU Little Theater. The annual ArteKultura is a flagship project of XCCA under its Cultural Education Program which aims to foster better understanding of Filipino expressions for the protection and promotion of Philippine culture and heritage.
This year’s lineup of topics and speakers includes Cagayan de Oro History and Folklore by Dr Antonio Montalvan II; Cagayan de Oro Arts and Culture by Prof Ametta Taguchi; The Socio-Political Climate of CDO by Ermin Stan Pimentel; and The Life and Works of Fr Francisco Demetrio SJ by Dr Erlinda Burton.
XCCA invites teachers and students to join this year’s ArteKultura. “This is a very good capability building and formation program toward artistic excellence, culture and arts promotion, and heritage education,” said XCCA director Hobart Savior.
Registration for the event costs Php 75.00 for students and Php 200.00 for faculty members and professionals. Certificates of participation and attendance will be given to all participants. ∎
