Parents and faculty members of the College of Arts and Sciences of Xavier University drew together at their general assembly on August 20 to get a foothold on this year’s programs and to build camaraderie.

College dean Dr Juliet Q Dalagan officially opened the event held at the XU AVR 1. She expressed her support to the parents and faculty members in the face of the university’s implementation of the senior high school program, cost-saving measures, and developmental projects, among others.

CAS Parents-Faculty Council members were also presented at the said event which served as an opportunity to get to know the people behind the college’s firm commitment to offering quality education and holistic development.

CAS-PFC treasurer Marichu Obedencio also shared the council’s financial report for June 2015 to May 2016, followed by the auditor’s report.

For his part, the CAS-PFC president introduced their vision of transparency and volunteerism. His presentation featured the successful outreach program organized by the council held at an elementary school in Barangay Pagatpat.

A representative from the Computing and Information Services Office also conducted an orientation on the university's Student Lifecycle Management and Information System (SLMIS).

During the open forum, parents raised their concerns, such as how they can get access to view their children’s grades, and how to enrol and pay online.

To conclude the assembly, special prizes were given to lucky parents and faculty members who won the raffle draw. ∎
