Xavier University - Governance and Leadership Institute (XU-GLI) director Dr Dixon Yasay recently served as resource person for a half-day workshop on executive-legislative partnership for Pasig City officials and department heads who envision Pasig as the “Philippines’ Green City.”

Yasay emphasized that given the challenges in local politics and the political dynamics in every local government unit, “Genuine partnership is about the free flow of ideas and space for dialogue.”

He highlighted the value of suspending judgment in the process of dialogue. "Real partnership is not absence of disagreement, but a recognition and respect of differences," he iterated.

Pasig City Mayor Robert Eusebio, Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo, executive department heads, and city legislators actively participated in all workshop exercises.

Also present were former Mayor Maribel Andaya Eusebio and Representative Ricky Eusebio.

Participating officials were able to identify key areas for partnerships and establish their fundamental principles and philosophy for collaborations to ensure the efficient delivery of quality basic services.
