The Governance and Leadership Institute (GLI) of Xavier University recently facilitated the executive and legislative agenda (ELA) formulation workshop for the local government unit of Cabadbaran City in Agusan del Norte.
Public servants from both executive and legislative branches attended the said workshop which covered sessions on vision setting and the analysis of local challenges in areas of economy, institutional system, infrastructure, social and environmental programs, including defining the goals and initiatives for each sector.
They defined the strategic goals per sector and discussed them with the city councilors for legislative measures.
GLI director Dr Dixon Yasay led the ELA formulation anchored on the “Five Disciplines of Learning Organizations,” analysis of local challenges, and in parallel with the directions of the city’s local Chief executive on “Real Change Leaders Strategy for Ensuring a Sustainable Good Future.”
As an output, Cabadbaran City officials intend to strengthen hospital health, bureaucracy service excellence, and job-generating tourism for the next three years.
“This workshop has given the executive and legislative branches a venue to level off expectation and direction,” said Mayor Katrina Marie Mortola. “With this strategic direction, I’m determined that we can reduce poverty in our city.” ∎
