In his latest memo, Xavier Ateneo president Fr Roberto C Yap SJ commended the “excellent performance” of the XU graduates during the November 2016 Chemical Engineer Licensure Examination.

XU graduate Rene Rey Mondia ranked tenth among all the passers, with 80.30%.

“Congratulations to Engr Rene Mondia and all our new XU Chemical Engineers! May you use your skills and talents in caring for our common home, Laudato Si,” Yap said in his message to the academic community.

In sum, 23 out of 25 Xavier grads successfully took the said exam, giving the university a passing rate of 92%. The national passing rate is 58.17%

“We thank College of Engineering dean Dr Hercules R Cascon, Chemical Engineering Department officer-in-charge Engr Edwin Richard R Ortiz, the faculty and staff of the College of Engineering for the guidance and support they have provided our students,” Yap added.

The Professional Regulation Commission announced on Tuesday, November 22 that 534 out of 918 passed the said exam conducted by the Board of Chemical Engineering in Manila and Cebu. ∎
