The Governance and Leadership Institute (GLI) of Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan facilitated the 2017 planning workshop of Cagayan de Oro City Information Office on Monday, January 9 in Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

The planning workshop, packed with team-building exercises, focused on everyone’s participation in dialogues and conversations while identifying their goals for this year. It included review session on what went well in 2016 and recommendations to improve their performance this year, identifying clients and their expectations, measures of success, and ways to communicate their goals.

As an output, the participants came up with the project dubbed as “Well-informed Kagay-anons” as the 2017's overarching goal which can be achieved by establishing client feedback mechanisms, strengthening partnerships among tri-media, business, and civil society organizations, enhancing capacities of human resources, and upgrading of communication technology.

City information officer Maricel Casiño-Rivera expressed her gratitude on behalf of the group to GLI director Dr Dixon Yasay who served as the main workshop facilitator.

Rivera pointed out that there is so much work to be done by the city government together with the CdeO communities considering the city’s pressing issues and development goals. ∎
