Lansad is an annual photo exhibit by junior Development Communication students of Xavier Ateneo and is now in its 10th year.

Set to happen from October 2 to 4 at the activity center of Centrio Ayala Mall, the exhibit will run with the theme “Lansad Unang Dekada and One Hundred Years of Talakag: Appreciating the Past; Harnessing the Future.”

Lansad Dekada will feature photographs and stories from the municipality of Talakag, Bukidnon. Photographs will showcase the people, agricultural activities, and landscapes of the municipality in celebration of their centennial year.

The photo exhibit is a product of the students’ immersion in Talakag last September 1 to 3, in partnership with the university’s Service Learning Program (SLP) under the Social Development cluster and the local government unit of Talakag.

Looking back, Lansad has allowed the Development Communication department to partner with a number of municipalities with the continued support of the College of Agriculture.

It has always been an event that highlights the DevCom experience as students were taught to apply the principles of photography, where more than just the aesthetics, these photographs actually tell stories.

The third-year DevCom students have invited singers and dancers for the event and it will also host a trivia night that is open to the public.∎
