XUKontraCOVID19 3

On March 8, a State of Public Health Emergency was declared in the Philippines. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention notes that the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is highly contagious and social distancing measures are needed to reduce possible transmissions.

Being the point of convergence of Northern Mindanao to the rest of the country, Cagayan de Oro city is highly vulnerable to the risk of widespread COVID-19 community transmissions.

Open establishments are limited to the ones that offer basic necessities such as groceries, pharmacies, 24/7 convenience stores, health clinics and diagnostic laboratories, and restaurants. The curfew is pegged from 10:00 o’clock in the evening until 5:00 o’clock the following morning.
