The city government of Cagayan de Oro, in adopting appropriate policies to practice social distancing measures, had banned the drinking of alcoholic liquor and other intoxicating drinks through executive order #53 which was issued on March 26. 

From the onset of the community quarantine and despite warnings of social distancing by local authorities, CDO recorded a number of cases of the consumption of alcoholic liquors in public spaces. 

The executive order also changed the start of the curfew period from 10:00 o’clock (check EO #52) to 9:00 o’clock in the evening. Failure to comply is meted with appropriate charges from the City Legal Department.
