On April 24, president Rodrigo Duterte declared the imposition of General Community Quarantine to localities with low to moderate COVID-19 risk. Misamis Oriental (GCQ) was classified as such and was put under GCQ. 

Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano extended the GCQ of the entire province until May 15, 2020. This executive order also detailed the heightened precautionary measures for travel, work, and other important health reminders.
