Rationale:

Coastal cleanup is done to encourage cleanliness in the coasts and seas, and to educate the XU community about the importance of trash-free seas. Data gathered from this activity will assist MMC and other stakeholders in policy-making and the development of Information Education Campaign (IEC) materials to address the global problem on Marine debris.

Objectives:

To organize and conduct an annual coastal cleanup in Brgy. Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City by inviting the XU community, and to promote environmental awareness among XU students, faculty and staffs.

Expected Results:

Increased awareness in coastal and marine pollution and behavioral change of stakeholders with regards to solid waste management
