Rationale: 

The Internship Program at Xavier University –McKeough Marine Center aims to bridge the gap between the academic learning and professional practice in the field of marine biology and biology. The program provides students with hands-on experience in their chosen fields through engagement of projects enabling them to prepare them for successful careers for post-graduation. 

Objectives:

1. To equip the students or interns with practical skills and real-world experience in their field of study;
2. To improve and enhance the students or interns’ employability by providing them with relevant work and experience and industry insights;
3. To allow the students or interns to apply the theoretical knowledge in practical settings and reinforce their academic learning; and,
4. To facilitate connections between the students or interns and the professionals in their field that will help them build valuable networks.
