In Terms of  Status

Xavier University consistently adheres to high standards of instruction and research, integrity and reputation, commitment to excellence, and sustainability and viability of operations granted by the Commission on Higher Education AUTONOMOUS AND DEREGULATED  STATUS.

  • XU as an Autonomous Institution is:
  • Exempted from issuance of Special Orders
  • Free from regular monitoring and evaluation by CHED
  • Given priority in grants and financial subsidies/ assistance from CHED
  • Blest with the privilege to determine and prescribe curricular programs, to offer new programs, and to establish satellite or extension campuses
  • Authority to confer honorary degree

Xavier University has earned PAASCU (Philippine Accrediting Association of Colleges and Universities) levels of accreditation on  the following programs:

  • Level IV   Accredited Status for Liberal Arts, Sciences and BS Chemistry Programs, Business Administration and  Accountancy Programs, Elementary and Secondary Education Programs
  • Level III   Accredited Status for the Agriculture Program & Basic Medical Education Programs
  • Level II     Accredited Status for the Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial & Mechanical Engineering Programs

As Policy

Manual of Regulations for Private Higher Education of 2008, Article 10 Sec.43-46, CHED recognizes higher education institution as Center of  Excellence  (COE) or  Center of Development.

Xavier University has demonstrated academic excellence in Instructional Quality, Research and Publication, Outreach Program and Institutional Linkages thereby granted Center of Development in the following Undergraduate Programs:

  • Teacher Education Program
  • Literature Program
  • Agriculture Program
  • Chemical  Engineering Program
  • Civil Engineering Program
  • Electrical Engineering Program
  • Electronics  Engineering
  • reviews the University’s system and procedures to determine its strengths and weaknesses.
  • aligns these systems and procedures to the Vision, Mission, and Goals of the University and the current external standards.
  • recommends interventions to improve and to assist in the implementation of these systems and procedures.

XU QMO aims to:

Goal 1: Establish and maintain the quality standards for the University to attain the desired level of competence and excellence.

Goal 2: Review and evaluate the University’s compliance to external standards and monitor the sustained implementation of the given recommendations.

Goal 3:  Ensure the delivery of excellent service to achieve the University’s mission of proving quality education.

Libraries

The Xavier University Libraries (XUL) is more than a cluster of libraries; it connects people with information by providing diverse resources and services to the academic community.

Each library has an immense collection of books, journals, films, maps, databases, and more. XUL develops and maintains a broad array of information resources, including TLC Catalog Search, article and indexing databases, e-journal subscriptions, and specialized collections crossing subjects, formats, and genres. XUL also provides computing resources, including public computers, audio-visual rooms, and software services.

eLearn

eLearn is XU’s online classroom where students make use of the new media to pursue academic excellence and virtual connectivity.

XUTV

Launched in 2015, Xavier University Television (XUTV) is a production frontlined by the Development Communication Department.  Episodes focus on XU’s thematic goals on environment, peace, food security, governance and health, among others.

Crusader Yearbook

The Crusader Yearbook is the official annual compendium of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, capturing the gist of the students’ university experience in a creative and quality package.
